The region lies on the eastern part of Tanzania Mainland along theIndian Oceancoastal belt. It is located between latitudes 6oand 8osouth of equator and between longitudes 37o30’ and 40oeast of Greenwich Meridian. Coast region shares borders with Tanga Region on the North, Morogoro Region to the west, and Lindi Region in the South. On the Eastern part, the Region shares borders with Dar-Es-Salaam Region and theIndian Ocean.
